Essential skills:

• JAVA
• Experience in building server-side components for large-scale web applications
• Proficient knowledge of programming concepts such as concurrency and threading
• Unix system fundamentals (filesystem, sockets, pipes, scheduler)
• Modern revision control systems i.e. Git or Mercurial

You should be passionat about:

• High throughput, high availability distributed systems
• Test Driven Development / Unit Testing
• Horizontal scaling

Bonis skills:

• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Traditional relational database technologies and No-SQL
• Hadoop / HDFS / Casandra
